When I first joined Flickr, (a social photo sharing site) I had a great deal of fun perusing the “What’s in Your Bag?” photo group. People would neatly lay out the contents of their bags to show off what they carry with them on a day-to-day basis. And not only would they show, they would also tell – adding numerous tagged notes to the images to describe each and every item in the photo.  (Click through the links to see the notes) After a while, I had to stop looking because I started to want to go and buy things that other people had.  Like journals…and art supplies…and a new iPod….

I always like seeing the bag content on flickr. It’s true though, maybe it can be dangerous, once you find all the things you didn’t know about.

I really like the What’s in your bag pool. there’s something fantastic about seeing the ‘kit’ that people carry with them every day, the lipbalm they use, their favorite pen, their favorite notebook, the bag that they switch out every week or have used for the past 5 years. It’s very intimate, but very commercial at the same time(all these things are bought and available anywhere).
When I create a character that I’m writing about, I like to draw their ‘kit’ that they carry around, so I have a good idea of what they bring, what they touch each day, and what’s important to them.

I could seriously look at that flickr group for days. I think it’s a sickness.

As for the second one – forget the stuff, check out that awesome bag!!!

Gentian – it has been quite expensive for me. :o) I’ve bought a few things that I’ve seen others with…

Jonel – I am so with you. It’s like approved snooping. When I was growing up, I always wanted whatever my two older cousins had.

Kim – That is a VERY cool bag. I checked the notes – it’s from a website that sells bags for carrying firearms. Go figure! Suggestion for RSS subscription to blog comments has been noted and will be addressed. I’m trying to do what I can to help Rhodia Drive be as social and functional as possible and I certainly appreciate suggestions on what we can do to make it better. Thank you!

Stephanie, I may just have to come over to your place and kick you! I just got over looking at that flickr page and here you go trying to suck me right back into it!

I have one of the pieces of military style organizers that Jessica C. has in her picture. The Maxpedition bag and the other things can be purchased on line and I have a couple of sources if others are interesting in them. They are going to withstand more years of use than I will have to use them.

Thanks to all for sharing, you little stinkers. ;>)
