» Retailer Spotlight: Dan’s Camera City in Allentown, PA

Dans Associates

We are proud to welcome Dan’s Camera City of Allentown, PA as a new Exaclair retailer. An iconic specialty store in Northeast Pennsylvania’s Lehigh Valley, Dan’s has been serving the Valley’s photographic needs for over 30 years.

Earlier this fall I had visited Dan’s to talk to Mike Woodland, one of the store’s  co-owners about their in-house capabilities for reproducing my artwork. I’ve known Mike for over 20 years, (he was once my boss at a different local camera shop) and it pleases me to no end that he has been involved with the success of a local business that receives community awards year after year for excellence in service.

The day I went to visit Mike, I had taken him a few of the new Paul Smith Rhodia Pads as a gift and he told me that Dan’s offers a Digital Journaling Class where  journals are provided to their students for use as part of the class. He asked me if Rhodia offered any kind of hardback journal and I was happy to tell him about the Webbie- which they now stock and are provided to participants in the 6 week general photography class. The class covers topics like close ups, portraits, and street photography. Ryan Hulvat, the course instructor, tells me that the students are encouraged to keep their photos in a journal both for personal reflection and as a great way to keep track of their progress.

For now, Dan’s Camera City is the ONLY Lehigh Valley retailer selling the Rhodia Webnotebook. To my local friends & family that have been wanting to see them in person, here’s your chance.

Wish I’d known, that’s my hometown and I was just there for the holidays visiting my parents.

i always thought dan’s camera city was cool, but they are even cooler now that i know they stock rhodia notebooks.

i grew up in allentown and even though i live in new york now i still remember & miss their high quality reprints, attention to customer service and great selection of equipment & books.
