» Clairefontaine

The 2010 Clairefontaine-Rhodia catalog can be viewed online here.

You can also view the catalog on the English version of their website here.

We would appreciate knowing what Clairefontaine and Rhodia products appeal to you.  I can’t promise that we will import them all–we have limited warehouse space and currently import and carry many references–but if enough Clairefontaine and Rhodia fans express interest in a particular product or line, I will see about showing it at the upcoming National Stationery Show in New York in May.

Thank you all very much for your support and good ideas.

The bags are amazing, I’d love to see them.

I love that the catalogues are actually available to us – many companies won’t do that. I just wish they also made them available as a simple pdf download.

Some of us find the whole flash thing just too annoying…

Can we get French-ruled looseleaf at all? I have some old copies doubles left over from school, but I’m running out!

I actually tried the French version first, but 2 years of high school French in the 70s turned out to be woefully inadequate preparation . . . even with pictures!

Kate (and others interested), I will be ordering some looseleaf paper (French and ruled with margin) directly from France, since Exaclair has discontinued it. It’ll take a couple of months to get in, but I’ll have it up on my website once I do. Email me if you’re interested.

When will the new 2010 colors of Clairefontaine be available?

The key word I keep hearing is spring. The product from France is shipped to the US on a cargo ship and it is hard to get an exact date.

I (again, retailer here) have already started to get some of the new colors for certain notebooks. It’s going to take a little while for the old inventory to clear out, especially since the only difference is the cover colors. Exaclair has to send all of the old colors out to the retailers first before sending the new colors, and the retailers will sell the old colors before the new ones. Long story short, they’re coming, but will be a little unpredictable for a little while (unless you make a special request, I suppose!).

Thanks, Stephanie. (Love your biffybeans site, by the way. You are a FPN all-star, to be sure!) One more question: I looked at the 2010 catalogue, didn’t notice the 8.5 x 11 3 hole punched notebooks (the ones with 90 pages). I use those a lot, will those will still be available?

Hi Stuart, much thanks for the kind words! I am unsure about the notebooks you are questioning…. I will ask Karen.

i find the catalogue gorgeous! thank you for posting it. i especially love the tabbed notebooks (and the new twinbook). i wish there was an easier way to flip through in english, though.

Will the Clairing line be imported to the U.S this Spring?

Many fountain pen users would be interested in first class paper inside a ring system. :)

I do not believe that the Clarings will be imported this spring – but I will pass along your request!

I’d love to see the Clarings notebooks as well. I also like to see the Minuit, 4 Elements, and Henne collections.

I like the Henna ones as well…. but then again, I love all things both purple & mandala in design. :)

Another vote for French ruled loose leaf! I’m dying to get refills of French (Seyes) Ruled loose leaf paper for my small binder (smaller than standard 8.5 x 11″, not sure of the exact measurements) here in the USA. It seems near to impossible to get any of those loose leaf sheaf packets that seemed to be everywhere in London and Paris. I really love the small size and the French ruled paper helps me keep me practice writing in Chinese by keeping all the characters at the same height when I take notes for my class. Now I can’t refill the binder so I can’t use it anymore :( I’d even take narrow ruled “regular” lined paper in the small size too.

There are a few Exaclair retailers that will place special orders for you, but know that you will likely have to buy in quantity, pay in advance, and that it might take a few months to receive your order. (Orders from France come via container ship.) Try contacting Brian Goulet at Goulet Pens as he is the 1st retailer to spring to mind that places special orders.

Alex,

It’s impossible to find because it’s not being imported into the US anymore. I placed an order for Clairefontaine loose sheets in French-rule and lined with margin directly from France and I should be getting it soon. Exaclair’s been helpful working with me on special items from France but the logistics are quite challenging. I’ll have them up on my site as soon as I get them in, and I’ll be the only retailer in the US that has them (unless someone has some old stock that hasn’t sold….).

Okay, thanks for the help^ I’ll definitely check your site then!

Hi I am fron Singapore and I am just wondering if I can import the french rule double sheets together from the US to Singapore? Thanks!

Good question! I suggest asking your question here: http://www.rhodiapads.com/contact.php
