» Another One Done…
I am admittedly a paper junkie. I don’t just have one book for writing & sketching, I have many. And I tend to use more than one at a time, which means that it sometimes takes me a while to finish one. The book shown above is the Exacompta blank sketchbook that I recently finished and it took me about a year to do it. I love this journal so much… it’s 100g off white laid paper is great as an art journal. It works well with fountain pens, pencils, markers, light watercolor washes, acrylic paints… It opens flat and my only gripe with it is that I wish it had a hard cover because if it did, it would probably eliminate my need for other products.

I have another one on standby that I’d love to dive right into, but I would really like to try and finish up a few of the other books I have in various stages of completion before starting another one.

I’m with you! Highly recommend.
Have for years been a work-in-several-journals kind of artist. This January in a response to simplify, I decided to keep everything in one book and see how it went.

Except for my “The Artist’s Way” morning pages, everything went into one journal, an Exacompta Basic Sketchbook. I am 3 double-page spreads and a page away from filling the book completely. And I have to say it has been a joy! Except for sandpaper and heat guns, it handled everything I threw at it. {and even then I was pushing to see what it could take.}

Congratulations on filling another journal!
The Exacompta Basic is definitely my favorite journal in its size range. A larger version would be welcome, too. However, a heavier cover would add to the weight so I’m happy with the current style. :)
I have one notebook, a Rhodia Reverse, for note taking, regardless of type of meeting–work,personal, etc. A sequential order of record kept in one place is what saves me from utter disorganization.
Then there’s the Journal. I am funny about finishing a journal… I can’t bring myself to write until the very last page. I have a thing about finishing cleanly, complete thought, y punto. What if I get to the last page and am mid sentence? Ergo, I normally leave about four blank pages at the end. The back of the last journal page is always reserved for swiping clean the pen tip, jump starting a pen if it goes dry, stroke width/color testing…
