In our recent post on Basic Colors, Mike Clemens left a comment pertaining to a subject I’d been meaning to talk about: Project Books. When discussing the 4 new colors of the Clairefontaine Basics series, he said: “Colors are perfect for single-purpose notebooks. Keep one for writing ideas, one for shopping lists, etc. and keep them by the keys with a pen clipped on. “

Mike, I agree with you 100% on the use of separate project books. While I always keep one main journal, I have several thinner books like the Clairefontaine spiral pictured above for specific projects and ideas. (A little cover doodling helps inspire my writing.)
