» August Giveaway: Which Herbin Inks Would You Like To Win?

I’m thinking about giving away some fountain pen inks for the month of August. From J. Herbin’s Jewel of Inks line, there are 30 colors to choose from. Want to help me pick which inks to give away?  Just leave a comment below with your Top 3 color choices and I’ll take it from there.

Don’t own a fountain pen? Try using a brush! These water based inks behave much like watercolor paints.

id love to try the Gris Nuage, Violette Pensee & of course the 1670 =)

Orange indien, éclat de saphir and blue nuit are my picks :)

By Hope Lohman on July 30th, 2010 at 5:42 am

Eclat de Saphir is an old standby for me — usually in at least one of my pens and is used daily. I would like to try out a darker green, Vert Empire, and maybe a lighter shade – more for doodling than writing — let’s say, Rouille d’Ancre!

Pearle Noire, Bleu Pervanche and Orange Indien would be my top three. Good question. Thanks for the opportunity to win some J Herbin.

1. Vert Olive
2. Eclat de Saphir
3. Orange India

^.^

First!

Terre de feu
Cacao de Bresil
Vert Empire

Oh, I’m not fussy. Any Herbin ink would do! But I’d like to try Eclat de Saphir and Lie de The, please.

Extremely hard, but three I’d love to try are:
Vert Olive, Bouquet d’Antan, Rouge Caroubier.

I love them all, but today these are my top 3:

1. Poussiere de Lune

2.Lie de The

3. Cacao de Bresil

Violette pensee
Terre de feu
Bouquet d’Antan

Orange Indien
Bouguet D’Antan
Rouge Opera

Thanks for the opportunity to get more ink, free!!

My top 3 choices would be Cacao du Bresil, Larmes de Cassis, & Bleu Pervenche.

By BridgettB on July 30th, 2010 at 7:11 am

Larme de Cassis, Bouquet d’Antan, Lierre de Sauvage. Those are the colors that I either can’t find a good review for or want to see up close. LdS seems to be a perennial fan favorite.

Hi there!

My top 3 picks are these:

vert olive (36)
terre de feu (47)
gris nuage (08)

And by the way, I’ve been enjoying your blog. :)

Sandy

wow !
I just recently got a fountain pen again so this is a great giveaway :) since the only colour I managed to find is black ;)

my top 3:

15 Bleu Mysostis
48 Poussere De Lune
37 Lierre Sauvage

It was tough, but I narrowed it down to 3. And all 3 were because they’re so different than anything I already have.

1. Rouge Caroubier-because it’s a bold orange without being pumpkinish.

2. Vert Pre, because it reminds me of guacamole.

3. Orange Indien, another variety of orange that isn’t too brash.

I’d love to put any one of these in a pen and use it to fill out paperwork for our medical billing service. It would bring a bit of color into what’s usually a very boring task.

I should mention that I very much choose colors based on daily mood. Today’s choice:

1. poussiere de lune
2. lie de the
3. gris nuage

{I have a bottle of vert olive that came as a gift but no pen to put it in. Am running for a brush now!}

Bleu Myosotis
Gris Nuage
Poussier de Lune

I like the looks of Vert Pre (Actually my Irish heritage is screaming at me that I MUST like it, lol). I also like the Lie De The (Which I’m assuming is probably Tea Brown?) and Eclat De Saphir (Sapphire Blue)… :)

Lierre Sauvage
Eclat de Saphir
Ambre de Birmanie

Those are some amazing colors! My top 3 would be: Blue Nuit, Vert Reseda, Larme de Cassis

Here is what I am thinking:

Poussiere de Lune
Bleu Nuit
Eclat de Saphir

Did I ever tell you I am color blind? So what looks like a good scale of color may look like h*ll to others… :-)

Just three, huh?

Well, 1. Pouisserre de Lune, definitely. Poetic yet stately.

2. Ambre de Birmanie– liquid honey, my happy color.

3. Vert Olive? Sunshine through leaves.

I just might love them all.

I vote for Lierre Sauvage!

Eclat de Saphir
Poussier de Lune
Bleu Myostisis

Bleu Nuit
Gris Nuage
Bleu Pervenche

Hmmm, August is still hot, with leaves just starting to turn towards the end of the month. Gardens are bursting with fruit and veg, and the sunsets can be amazing. So many color inspirations, but you only need 3.
How about Lierre Sauvage, Orange Indien, and Bleu Pervenche?

Hmmmm…Terre de Feu
Orange Indien
Larme de Cassis

My Top 3 color choices would be:

“Drum Roll please”

Bleu Pervenche

Larme de Cassis

Vert Pre

Thannks so much

Of course I mangled all the names. LOL.

Eclat De Saphir!

Here are the 3 colors of ink I would enjoy if I were to win:
Vert Olive
Rouge Opera
Orange Indien

Thanks

Bleu Myosotis
Lie de The
Perle Noire

I would love to win *any* of three listed below:
Lierre Sauvage
Cafe Des Iles
Orange Indien

Thanks for offering another contest!

By JohnGerard on July 30th, 2010 at 12:04 pm

I love these inks. The Cocoa du Bresil and Eclat du Saphir are favorites. I would love to try any of the browns. I also use Perle Noir as my only black.
Thanks for the opportunity!

By JohnGerard on July 30th, 2010 at 12:17 pm

I see I was supposed to name three choices. Sorry! They are:
Lie de The
Cafe des Iles
Terre de Feu
Thanks!
JohnG

Lierre sauvage! Any purple ink :)

Vert Empire! Terre de Feu! Rouge Opéra! … pretty please :-)

I think an autumn trio like Ambre de Birmanie, Poussiere de Lune, and either Terre de Feu or Cafe des Iles would be fun.

I have yet to try any of the purples.
So Poussiere De Lune, Bouquet D’antan, and Larme de Cassis are all on my wishlist.

I already own some of the J. Herbin inks & i really do like them a lot, especially the Perle Noir ink.
My 3 favs would have to be:
Orange Indien
Bouton D’or
Lierre Sauvage
:)

Such a hard decision! 1) Rouge Caroubier 2) Bleu Myosotis, and finally 3) Rose Cyclamen. Those are 3 I haven’t tried yet but would love to.

Gris Nuage
Orange Indien
Ambre De Birmanie

Have never tried those!

By Matt Hunt on July 30th, 2010 at 3:26 pm

I think three of the best inks are:

1. Eclat de Saphir
2. Bleu Pervenche
3. Vert Empire

But there are sooooo many good ones!

I think the imperial green would be nice :)

I’m suggesting Poussiere de Lune, Eclat de Saphir, Bleu Azur.

Poussiere because it looks mysterious, Eclat for brilliance and sassiness, and Azur for days when I feel innocent!

C’est tres facile, mon amie.

Eclat de Saphir, Poussiere de Lune, et Voilette Pensee. Magnifique!

(Mai ouis, je parle un petit peu de Francais)

Took 2 years in high school, heh.

By whimsicism on July 30th, 2010 at 5:32 pm

My top 3 colour choices would be:

1) Poussiere de Lune
(love the colour, but it just refuses to turn up around here)
2) Gris Nuage
(for some reason, I just like grey inks. Maybe because they remind me of graphite?)
3) Vert Reseda
(I love my Diablo Menthe, but it’s a little too pale to be practical.)

I live in Singapore, no idea if it’s possible to ship here, but it’s ok if it’s not, since the shipping rates are probably like whoa;)

Cacao du Bresil
Bleu Nuit
Pousserie de Lune

I would go for these three:

Vleu pervenche
Eclat de saphir
Orange indien

Can’t wait for the giveaway! I’m always looking to add more colors to my ink collection.

Top 3? But I want *all* of them! ;) However, I must say Poussiere de Lune, Rouille d’Ancre, and Ambre de Birmanie look the most tempting!

My three that I would like to try are
Violette Pensee
Terre Du Feu
Bleu Nuit

Lierre Sauvage
Vert Empire
Bleu Pervenche

Bleu Pervenche
Orange Indien
and Vert Empire

Why not?

Hi Stephanie! I’m tempted to ask for browns because they’re really what I love, but I’d love to get the blues at the moment: Eclat de Saphir (because I’ve heard/read a lot of good reviews about this color), Bleu Nuit, and Vert Reseda (because I’m a sucker for all things Turquoise. LOL!). Cheers! :)

I vote for Violette Pensee, Poussiere de lune, and Lierre Sauvage

By David Neves on July 31st, 2010 at 12:16 am

Lierre Sauvage
Eclat De Saphir
Orange Indien

For sure!

By Sam Kuglen on July 31st, 2010 at 1:06 am

My choices are:

Pearl Noir – a luscious black

Eclat de saphir – looks like a vivid, strong blue – always usable

Orange Indien – I bet it would look great in the journal!

What a wonderful selection of colors. My top three would have to be:

Bouquet D’Antan (64)
Gris Nuage (08)
Terre De Feu (47)

Thanks so much for another chance to win something. I’m feeling lucky,

xoxo

I vote for Bouquet d’Antan, Gris Nuage and Rouille d’Ancre.

Maybe I’m wrong and these colors are actually quite popular, but I don’t see them a lot in reviews or scans. I’d like to see some less popular inks in the spotlight, even if these three do not qualify. :)

I’d definitely like to try Eclat de Saphir!

Thank you for the giveaway!

My Top 3 color choices are:
Lie De The
Cacao Du Bresil
Gris Nuage

Ive never tried J herbin ink but of all their colors
Blue Myosotis, Lie De The and Rouge Opera are the ones I would like to have.

For August, I would like to have Orange Indien to match the leaves that are beginning to turn in anticipation of fall (or maybe they’ve just been burnt to a crisp by unusually hot weather), Blue Myosotis to match the chicory flowers that line the roads, and Rouge Borgogone to remember the wineberries that have gone by. I would love to have them all to brighten the fall days. :-)

Oh wow… they are all wonderful. I think Poussiere de Lune is my number one favorite. It’s hard to choose only two more. I do keep inking Violette Pensee and I love Rose Cyclamen, but then there is Terre du Feu which does not get near enough props. Sorry that is four.

Uhmmmmmmmm no an easy task…anyway here are my picks:
Orange Indien (57)
Lie de Thé (44)
Vert Empire (39)
Cheers

1. Ambre de Birmanie
2. Perle Noire
3. Eclat de Saphir

1. Perle Noire – classic black

2. Lie de Thé – masculine

3. Vert Empire – elegant

But I’ve not tried Café des Iles yet

1. Rouge Bourgogne
2. Orange Indien
3. Poussiere De Lune
I really have to experiment with different colours!

I would like to try:
Pouissiere de lune
Perle Noire
Larme de Cassis

They are all beautiful, but I like the darker colors for journaling.

Is it too early in the year for moody colors? I’m loving the darker ones:

Bleu Nuit
Vert Empire
Poussiere de Lune

By Mac in Alberta on August 2nd, 2010 at 2:55 pm

Perle noire

Vert empire

éclat de saphire

CAFE DES ILES

ECLAT DE SAPHIR

VERT EMPIRE

Thanks for the opportunity! I choose

1. Bleu Azur
2. Lie dethe
3. Vert Pre

By Christine Gutierrez on August 2nd, 2010 at 11:02 pm

I’ve never had J. Herbin inks but given the chance to own 3 of them, I’d like to have the following:

1. Rouge Caroubier
2. Rose Cyclamen
3. Violette Pensee

Eclat De Saphir (16)
Violet Pensee (77)
Vert Reseda (38)

Eclat De Saphir
Lie De The
Bleu Pervenche

Rose Cyclamen
Rouge Caroubier
Orange Indien

bouton d’or; rouge opera; perle noire.

a full set would probably blow my mind, but i guess these will have to do.

By Brett Joslin on August 6th, 2010 at 1:36 pm

Here are my three favorite picks.
Rouge Caroubier
Bouton D’or
Orange Indien

My three favorite are:

Poussiere De Lune, Vert Empire and
Eclat De Saphir.

Three I haven’t tried sound interesting:
Diablo Menthe, Cafe Des Iles and Ambre De Birmanie

I agree with Bouquet d’Antan and Larme de Cassis and would add Rouille d’Ancre to the list.

I’d love to try Terre de feu, Lierre sauvage, or Eclat de sefir. Or any of them….

I regularly use Lie de The and Bleu Pervenche. So, if it’s not too late in the day, I would like to try:

1) Blue Nuit – because it’s an interesting dusky blue that would go well on white paper.

2) Vert Pre – because I’ve never tried green ink and it looks lively.

3) Orange Indien – well, because it’s orange and that’s reason enough!

Just my personal choices, but I hope enough people will feel the same. Whatever your choice is, the chance to get Herbin inks will be more than welcome.

I’d love to possess all, but if I have to restrict to three, then I’d like:
1. Perle Noire (09)
2. Terre De Feu (47)
3. Poussière De Lune (48)
