Being that I live in the USA I feel like I live in an 8.5x11 world. Hence, I use a lot of yellow Ampads and the like. Also, I find the 3.5x5.5 format [e.g., Field Notes] a terrific size for lists monitoring health and fitness, gardening/pruning dates, writing prayers, photograph tips and techniques, jotting down thoughts and doodling, books to-be-read, home chores, etc. Lastly, I continue to try to use mid-sized journals, but more often than not find them too large and too small which drives me crazy. Recently, I've begun using a Rhodia top-wire-bound 6x8 notebook for developing recipes and the mid-size seems a good format for this use. As I always choose squared/quadrille paper over lined or plain I'm tempted to use the Rhodia Dots pad.

I keep journals of favorite quotes, books read (by year), and an idea book where I will list ideas (big and small), funny word concoctions, story ideas, inventions (I am not an inventor, but I think I could be if I wanted to), names (Kinda Brown), interesting sites (underground warehouses in Quincy, IL), mis-heard quotes (in defense of senility). You get the idea. I started this in 2006 and so far I have written 128 entries.
