» New Tools: Koh-i-noor Woodless Colored Pencils
Our friend Gail Young recently sent me an e-mail about these Koh-i-noor woodless pencils which I have yet to try. Her thoughts?
- Soft but not smudgy.
- Blend beautifully.
- Colors are coordinated; often inexpensive ($9 for 12) sets don’t do this.
- Packaging: terrible. Plastic holder that’s a waste with a cardboard slide cover. Pencils are impossible to remove without nine-inch-nails. Cover difficult to slide back on.
- But to me, they’re an A-, since they’re beautiful.

Comments
Seems kind of odd to make woodless pencils and then use plastic and cardboard for the box. I would guess they assume you will put the pencils in another box so their box is meant for transportation.
