» Have you seen: Clairefontaine’s Medium Sized Multiple Subject Notebook?

This wirebound Multiple Subject book by Clairefontaine features 60 sheets in pale pastel colors: blue, pink, green & yellow. It is graph ruled and includes 12 tabbed sections- this medium size is 6 3/4″ x 8 5/8.” Small (8 tabs) and large (4 tabs) versions are also available.

With 12 tabs, my first instinct would be to use this book in a yearly fashion; one month per tab – but how could we use this book? I’d love to hear your most ingenious ideas.

My first thought is that it would work well for a mileage/expense log.

I have one of these in orange. Bought it last year at the Container Store because I thought it was “cute.” Fell in love with the graph paper and colored tabs. But I have yet to use it. Can’t wait to hear some ideas for using it.

Homegrown cook book! The tabs would be categories of dishes… terrifically handy for when I read through cookbooks checked out of the library and copy out recipes. At the moment, they are all in one notebook sequentially according to encounter. Would be nice to have ready made organization!

If it were a clothbound, hard bound or staple bound, I would use this for a building project for my congregation where we need to keep track of various elements of the project separately. But wire-bound simply doesn’t lend itself to professional use [for me] where I need to slide notebooks in and out of bags and folders, as well as stacking them on shelves.

Additionally, wire-bound encourages people to tear out pages, not something I want for archival/record purposes.

I agree that 12 tabs = 12 months & I would personally use it for my yearly goals, or resolutions. I typically keep a running list of goals I’d like to achieve each year & some of them require a specific time of year. With this guy I’d be able to plan out the year accordingly & reference each month when need be. I will have to pick one of these up!

Oh, I LOVE this notebook. I never see anyone talking about it so I thought it was my secret :)

How I use it: To put down ideas for future projects. I get great ideas for books that are never the one I am currently working on, so I just go to the next subject and put them down there. When the time comes, all the bits I would have forgotten or lost are all in one place, for use or skritch-out as warranted. Since there aren’t too many pages per subject, there’s no waste.

I bought this at a college bookstore because I can’t resist multicolored paper and when I saw the tabs and graph paper, I immediately thought it would be useful since I work at a lab. Each section would be a useful way to record various kinds of procedures for easy reference.
