» We love hearing from you!

We love hearing your feedback as it allows us to tweak our products and expand our offerings to you. It is because of your comments and feedback that we have specifically improved upon the quality and expanded the variety of options on the Webnotebook. Your enthusiasm for our dot grid format has allowed us to offer the dotPad in additional sizes and we’ve even added an additional cover option in Rhodia’s signature orange.

I am fortunate for the opportunity to learn about and try new products from Exaclair before the general public and I always tell Karen my thoughts on each item. Not every item is suitable for the needs of every person but if there is a feature that could be in some way improved upon which might make an item more useful to you, we want to hear about that.

I myself would like to see more spiral bound offerings in the 5×8″ size, with perhaps a blank or dot option.

What features or options would you like to see updated/ added to the Rhodia line, or to any of Exaclair’s other brands?

Firstly- it’s really great that suggestions are invited! I had been one of those faithful customers that asked for Webjournals (Webbies) without ruled lines- nice and blank! And my wish came true!

Now- my suggestion is to make the paper on those blank Webbies thicker: thick enough so that fountain pen ink doesn’t show through on the other side. Maybe 60pound or 80pound paper? Essentially something of “sketch” weight to handle ink media.

Many thanks!

I would love to see fountain pen friendly 3×5 cards either squared or vertically lined. Webbies with white paper. Otherwise, I’m happy with the offerings.

I concur with the idea of a spiral binding in that particular size. I have become a real fan of dots – so that would be my preference. I also use blanks for art journaling and a spiral would be a great option for that as well

would love to see a 5 by 8 giant pad with 5mm squared paper and a wire bind. An engineers dream, a receipt pocket in the back cover would be handy too. :-D

Here are some suggestions:

- A4 coil notebooks with micro-perforated sheets; the 2011 and 2012 catalogues say only non-perforated is available in this size
- the stapled notebooks, particularly the pocket size, should be available in blank or Dot paper; the small one beats Field Notes and other similar notebooks by a longshot, but the dark quad-rule is an eyesore compared to the Dot or blank sheets
- the square, or reverse book, should be available in dot paper as well

I would like to see limited edition notepads that used different colors than orange and black. You could use reds, purples, greens for No. 11 and No. 10 pads just for fun. I think keeping the classic orange and black look is fine but it would be cool to add in some color options to mix it up once inawhile.

(dream-music playing in the background…)

The larger LeCarre in dot would be wonderful!

Would also be interested in the larger stapled notebook being available in blank or dots…just can’t get into lines anymore.

And I like the idea of index cards…hmm…

I really wish there was a natural white paper, something not to creamy but not so bright that it’s hard to look at or feels sterilized. I have a Strathmore 400 Series Sketch pad that would be just the right color if it was friendlier to Fountain Pens!

I find the No. 16 dot and blank pads ideal for letter writing–and I’d love to have envelopes sized to go with them.

+1 on envelopes to go with the dot pads.

+1 on the natural white that’s not such a dark cream

+1 on staple bound notebooks in dots

I’m not a spiral fan. Makes them hard to stack on shelves.

+1 on the colors other than orange and black.

Now that the Habanas are pretty much for the needle nibbed crowd, my fantasy is a large dot or lightly lined colorful Webbie with pretty colors and a less yellowed paper.

I’d really like to see A4 or 8.5″x11.5″ dotwebbies. They’re available in Europe so I wonder why we ca’t get them in the US. A version with the same white color paper that’s in the dotPads would also be great.

I love Rhodia dotPads! The dot grid format has become my favorite ruling to deal with: subtle enough for writing straight lines or drafting ideas.

My only suggestion is to offer a top spiral bound version of the dotPad (any size, but especially No. 16) so I utilize both sides of each page. I like having at dotPad No. 16 at my work desk and this would be perfect :)

Also, co-sign on the dot grid pocket staplebound.

I am new to the world of good notebooks. My first was a Moleskine, my second is currently a dot webbie, my third will be a Leuchtturm1917. Let me tell you why.

Moleskine is out because I want to use fountain pens. Paper is just not good enough.

Webbie is now out for me because of some simple things which if fixed, would have me buying them still.
The first problem I’ve found is with the elastic. It is so tight I find it almost unusable. I want something that holds the book firmly and is quick to put on, not which squeezes the life out of the book and takes a while to painfully put into place.
The second issue is with the bookmark. Even overlooking the cheap material it is made of (woven style bookmarks are much sturdier and simply nicer and classier looking), the bookmark is about 1 inch too short. To be useful and practical, a bookmark of this type needs to extend past the bottom of the book enough to easily be able to get a grip on it. The current length of the webbie bookmark is such that it can easily get lost in the pages, and when it is sticking out, I find myself searching for it.

I want to love the webbie! And I do, at least the paper. I’m loving the dot grid, and how wonderful the paper is beneath my fountain pens. But in the end this is my everyday notebook. I use it multiple times a day, so the quibbles mentioned above cumulatively become big deals and are enough to send me looking elsewhere for a hardcover notebook.

Hence my decision to change over to Leuchtturm. Their elastic is a good tension, bookmark a good length, and paper is adequate for fountain pens. Rhodia paper is and always will be better, but that’s why I carry a Rhodia A5 pad with me.
