» The Wind Continues to Howl

1 AM and it seems like the wind is finally dying down. Earlier this evening it took a lot for me to keep my stress levels in check especially when the wind blew so hard that it rocked the house. Local report are showing the strongest gusts at 81mph.
Prior to the power going out around 10 pm, I utilized my nervous energy to bake three dozen chocolate chip cookies with walnuts from scratch, I roasted a bag and a half of carrots, some zucchini, cooked up some ground turkey taco meat, and also a batch of rice. I also was able to temporarily distract myself by watching standup comedians on Netflix – Patton Oswalt talking about his hatred of hippies had me laughing so hard my stomach hurt.
Went outside and discovered that the air smells like the ocean even though I’m 96 miles away from it.
Writing this post via a variety of iPhone apps- please excuse any spelling/grammar/formatting mistakes.
Speaking of apps, Twitter has seemed to be the most functional app to keep up with what is happening around me- though soon I’ll have to power down to save phone juice.
I’ve been seeing that Sandy has been treating Manhattan rather badly. That’s where the Exaclair offices are located. (I’m down in the Lehigh Valley in PA) Sending love & light to those in need.
Stay safe everyone.

Stay safe. You sound like your well prepared. I hope everything works out as well as it can given the magnitude of this storm. Thoughts.
