» What is Your Preferred Paper Color?

Journal and pen

Which is your favorite color of Exaclair paper? Do you prefer the bright Clairefontaine white, the Rhodia 80g white or off-white as in the Rhodia R pads and Webbies? And what about the color of the ruling? What do you like best?

For writing and sketching, I’ve always preferred a paper that is at least a little bit off-white.

I myself prefer the white Clairefontaine Triomphe paper. The whiter the better to show off the true colour of the inks. As for ruling I prefer blank sheets. Love the blog!

I prefer white or off-white, and I am looking forward to trying some Rhodia notebooks very soon.

I prefer the white of the notepad over the off-white if the Webbie. I love how well the white shows off ink colours. I’d love to be able to buy a Webbie with white paper.

My ideal paper would be white or very slightly off-white (but not nearly as dark or yellowish as the Webbie). It would have very narrow ruling, and the color of the lines would be very pale, perhaps a pale gray–just dark enough to act as a guide for writing while staying in the background.

Clairefontaine white. The standard Clairefontaine notebook ruling is perfect for my OBB nibs.

I miss the old Habanas. I use the webbies for lack of better, but the paper makes my eyes tired.

Off white for me and ruled for writing. Any colour for the lines as long as it’s pale.

For normal everyday journaling, I use ivory paper because it’s readily available in the journal format I prefer. However, once I began using my Quo Vadis Trinote planner, which if I’m not mistaken uses Clairefontaine white paper, I fell in love with it. Wish I could have it with everything.

Bright Clairefontaine white! Unfortunately I can’t find a Clairefontaine notebook I like. They either look like school notebooks, which in fairness they are, or have cardboard covers. I want an A5 size/ 5 1/2 by 8 1/2 inch book with a Webbie cover but with white paper. And 6 mm ruling. Yes I know I’m picky!
